Coming back home to South Africa I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into a juicy spread of meat! Chisa nyama was the first meal on my list and damn I couldn’t even think of anything else, all those beautiful curry’s that I had in India, the Dosa’s , Parathas, Idliy’s, Sambal’s, veg combos, jalepi’s that I had…had nothing on My home grown chisanyama ….or so I thought!!!
Got picked up at the airport and went straight to the Portuguese fast food joint in Parkhurst for some Russian, chips, cheese, Atchaar and white bread, just the way I like it with cream sober and it was good…
Day 2- chicken licken wings…Ok
Day 3- Braai with Pap, Vors and steak… Ok
Day 4- Made a curry …Awesome…but just
Day 5- ????
Ok spent the last week having bread, vieannas, eggs, whatever I can’t even remember….
What’s the Dif I’ve been wondering, I love all these foods, but it feels like I’m just eating for eating’s sake, all I’ve had is missing something, all I want is the food I had in India, not dissing the local grub but I haven’t had anything hit the spot, taste amazing…could it be that everything is grown there, cooked fresh from the ground, onto the plate , taste buds dancing and body fulfilled… Damn I miss those Indian meals, well soon they will be melting on my tongue, and the lime Atchaar OMG ( antacids in the bag for that one)…
